Can reproduce. It seems libappindicator might not work for LxQt, need to investigate a workaround.

I'm not sure this is a clue or not but the correct icon does appear if the application is run as root
. Perhaps this is some sort of permissions issue?

I also note there's a fairly recent commit to lxqt-panel
regarding icons. It sounds a little different but it might be just the thing. If anyone else wants to give this a go, there is a Lubuntu CI PPA built from git
master.
Sadly that last one is a no-go.
With #161 (closed) being closed, I thought maybe a similar fix might exist for this. I tried creating /var/lib/snapd/desktop/icons
to begin to no avail. It looks like there's been issues with libappindicator
mentioned upstream FWIW.
