resolve "eager load message counts on message dispatch' (#65)

so that this is not (currently) useless, display number of messages sent in admin INFO command response.

later: when/if we want to display metrics, it will be easier for a dev who wasn't thinking about it. yes that's future proofing. sorry/not sorry. ;)
