Activity 2c
C) Documentation and community engagement efforts (how-tos & translation)
To improve the outcomes of the previous activity, we need to ensure that an appropriate effort is dedicated to the creation, editing and localization of proper reference materials. This involves direct correspondence with a network of volunteers that help us test-drive both the software and the reference documentation, and the creation and maintenance of a set of useful guides that are modified in response to community's feedback.
Discrete outputs of this activity are:
-
Creation of a concise how-to for enabling submission of measurement data.
-
Creation of a concise how-to for running ooniprobe or miniooni (development version).
-
Publication of a comprenhensive circumvention landing page in LEAP public documentation section, that: • Describes common censorship techniques. • Explains current approaches to censorship circumvention in LEAP VPN. • Offers pointers for further engagement to participate of community-driven circumvention research. • Explains the possible risks associated with measuring censorship (we will link to this page from the desktop and mobile applications).
-
Localize the above documentation into at least 2 non-english languages (russian, german). Be in contact with the community to coordinate localization efforts into other languages.
