installation fails for LMDE 5 (Linux Mint Debian Edition 5) due to change of package name "libappindicator3-1"
(It probably also fails for Debian bookworm.)
I run the latest LMDE 5.
If i run
sudo apt install riseup-vpn
it creates the following error:
Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: riseup-vpn : Depends: libappindicator3-1 but it is not installable
The package "libappindicator3-1" is since Debian bookworm called "libayatana-appindicator3-1". see: https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/libappindicator3-1
I assume defining "libayatana-appindicator3-1" as an alternative package whenever "libappindicator3-1" is not available will fix the issue.
I take recommendations for a workaround.
