it seems there is no official way of signing the maintenance tool (it looks hard to do, since it looks like it changes during the run-time of the installer).
however, there's a mention of a backwards-incompatible patch (I don't care about compat) to sign them https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTIFW-667
