Better formatting of owners' names
Data on the owners of land registry plots come from the files of premises and plots of legal entities published on the open data portal of the Ministry of Economy. In these files, owners are referenced either by their SIREN number (9 digits) or by a fictitious number used by the General Directorate of Public Finances (letter 'U' + 8 digits), as well as by their name.
The issue is that the names from these files are poorly formatted - they are truncated and some special characters are lost. For example, the company name "INST INTERDEP BARRAGES RESERVOIRS SEINE" becomes "INST INTERDEP BARRAGES RESERVOIRS" and "GF F.A.H" becomes "GF F A H".
This could be fixed at least for owners referenced by a SIREN number by cross-referencing with the Sirene database published by INSEE, which presumably lists better formatted names. The cross-referencing could happen once, at database generation. For owners that are referenced by a fictitious number, I don't have a solution.
I don't imagine implementing this change until a next big update of the map (early 2024?).
