msva-perl could listen on a UNIX-domain socket as well
Currently, msva-perl only listens on a TCP socket (on the loopback). this is convenient for the xul-extension (which can talk to TCP sockets easily) but it might be nice to be able to listen on a UNIX-domain socket as well.
This would have a few advantages:
- we can control access to the UNIX-domain socket more cleanly than the TCP socket, using filesystem permissions and SO_PEERCRED.
- we can run it on systems that don't have a loopback interface (e.g. some debian build daemons, which would let us run the test suite in those domains).
I wouldn't want to give up the TCP socket, but maybe we can make the msva-perl itself listen on two sockets concurrently?
