Error handling for encrypted emails - prepare for more Information in encrypted Email Notifications

We would like to add more information to the encrypted email notifications. Before we can do this, we have to make sure that we do not fall back to unencrypted emails.

• check if key is still valid before sending email
• check error handling / fallback mechanism
