smtp to port 465 doesn't work

i successfully configured my bitmask.net account for imap in tb, and can recieve mail, with following configuration:

- Create a new account with the following data:
User:@bitmask.net
Password:

- Click manual configuration and put this information:
Incoming: IMAP, localhost, 1984, None, Password
Outgoing: SMTP, localhost, 2013, None, None

when i try to send mail, i get a timeout.

looking in the server logs, i see my client connecting:

Aug 30 14:36:24 leech postfix/smtpd[26763]: connect from p5482C6D1.dip0.t-ipconnect.de[84.130.198.209]

but nothing more.
