What version of GTK do you have in trisquel? You can check it by running:
dpkg -l |grep libgtk-3
Do you know what version of debian is trisquel based on?
I'm sorry but we don't have the resources to test it on all the distros, we mainly test and run it on ubuntu and debian. But we'll be happy to accept fixes or do it ourselves if we get the help from the community to figure out where the problem is coming from.
Those are old versions of gtk, I guess this is where the problem is coming from. We are linking the debian package against a more modern version of gtk.
I recall we dropped support for Xenial some time ago, it's 4 years old (I know is still supported by ubuntu).
@kali do you know if this will be easy to solve? Or will it be a lot of work to compile the debian package for that version?

We dropped xenial packages some time ago, because they were too
difficult to keep up, while things were changing so much. I wouldn't
want to re-create them at this point.
