Connection Refused error with RiseupVPN since updating to Big Sur

I am getting this error since updating to Big Sur. I updated to Big Sur (11.0.1) last night and initially was getting an error that I didn't have permission to open the VPN. I reinstalled it (I'm running 0.20.1 now) since then I've gotten the error. "An error has occurred initializing the VPN: Post http://localhost:7171/firewall/stop: dial tcp 127.0.0.1:7171: connect: connection refused" systray.log openvpn.log helper.log

Another user in the comments of this post said they had the same issue since updating to Big Sur also #196 (closed)
