I see, so what they are saying is that we should use 22x22 icons. Right now we use 36x36 and I think is mostly to support correctly OSX retina displays. We need to evaluate if svg is an option for the systray library we use (not sure about that) and it will work both in OSX and linux (windows has a differnt ico format) or if we need to re-scale them for linux.
Yes, although in view of different taskbar heights (I like a narrow one saving real estate, others might want a bigger one for better readability) it would be best if the icon scales with the bar. I guess svg should be able to do this?
I briefly had the "old/stable" leap bitmask app installed in budgie (didn't work because of missing polkit, so I switched to the new beta) and did not have the icon-size problem.
yes, I have the issue in 20.04 Ubuntu with mate and munity "tweak" (see screenshot). I don't have it in KDE, and I think in Gnome it was also not a problem. The symbol stays too big compared to other icons in all states (disconnected, connecting, connected).
