bitmaskctl should not start bitmaskd automatically
I use a custom i3status indicator which checks if bitmask vpn is running or not, using bitmaskctl --json vpn status | jq -r ".[].status" | head -1
.
The problem is that it will start bitmaskd:
varac 28409 0.1 0.4 498016 59692 ? Sl 14:39 0:01 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/bitmaskd --verbose
and when I want to start bitmask later manually I get this authentication error:
» bitmask
[+] launching bitmaskd...
Another twistd server is running, PID 28409
This could either be a previously started instance of your application or a
different application entirely. To start a new one, either run it in some other
directory, or use the --pidfile and --logfile parameters to avoid clashes.
ERROR: No authentication token found!
So not sure what's the best here, either bitmaskctl should not start bitmaskd or bitmask should handle an already running bitmaskd nicely.
