First of all: Happy New Year ;)
Riseup forum sent me here so...
For some weeks, i've been using bitmask (https://dl.bitmask.net/client/linux/stable/Bitmask-linux64-latest.tar.gz) with my blackriseup account with success.
But since few days, it doesn't work anymore. And i'd like to know why and how to trace/debug it.
I never used the debian way of installing bitmask...
<code>
sudo apt install leap-archive-keyring
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://deb.leap.se/client release buster" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bitmask.list'
sudo apt update && sudo apt install bitmask
</code>
...because i even couldn't log in with blackriseup account. Any click on any buttons seems doing... nothing.
Well, that's why i used the lastest standalone bundles of bitmask.
When i start the /opt/bitmask-0.10.3/bitmask script, i can log into my blackriseup account then when i try to "turn on" the vpn, /var/syslog/ says :
<code>
Jan 6 13:21:50 FR-PORT bitmask-root: WARNING: unrecognized openvpn flag --nobind
Jan 6 13:21:50 FR-PORT bitmask-root: WARNING: unrecognized openvpn flag --client

Jan 6 13:21:50 FR-PORT bitmask-root: WARNING: unrecognized openvpn flag --management-signal
</code>
and nothing else. The vpn doesn't start, stay in "connecting" status and all my internet traffic is down. I have to close the bitmask windows to get internet access again.
Thank you for helping. I'd like to help you to test the app. What's the best to do ?

I was running Bitmask on Linux Mint 18.2 for a few weeks but removed it to install a newer version.
But now, I cannot install it at all.
I followed the instructions at https://bitmask.net/en/install/linux/debs which provides the code:
sudo apt install leap-archive-keyring
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://deb.leap.se/client release stretch" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/bitmask.list'
sudo apt update && sudo apt install bitmask
I substituted "zesty" for the "stretch" as I'm running Mint 18.3 based on Ubuntu. The instructions on the page indicate I should use "zesty".
But this is what Terminal reports:
> ray@Raffy ~ $ sudo apt-get install bitmask

I hope someone here can help me figure out how to resolve this problem.
Also when I downloaded the standalone bundle, I was not able to figure out how to install it.
I'm guessing it's easy for experienced users, but intermediate users like me are doubtlessly quite confused by this. Beginners will likely never figure it out. How shall I proceed to install the package?
I'll look forward to solutions! Assigning to myself to reproduce, could have happened due to bad network (in which case, Bitmask should give it a second try and not keep forever at the login window).Kali KanekoKali Kaneko
