check if pkexec is in the system if we're going to use it

Right now, under linux it's assumed that pkexec is present in the system. We should:

1. document clearly its dependency (docs/packaging/linux or something)
2. do a quick check (which / isfile) so that we can return a proper failure for privilege escalation commands on vpn/fw.
