Enigmail hides part of WhisperBack reports whose body includes an OpenPGP public key
When we receive a whisperback report with the user’s pulic key in the body of the message, enigmail first display (only for a second or two) what looks like a clean full report (tho some command outputs are cut off), then enigmail blinks, and display what was missing the first time, with what looks like a long encrypted message in place of the public key and without some of the logs displayed the first time.
it also show the following error in the top of the email :
Enigmail: *Parts of the message have NOT been signed or encrypted*
I didn’t saw this before a few weeks ago, but it happens also when displaying reports from november (e.g. before schleuder 3.0), and I could reproduce this with enigmail 2.0~beta1.
I tried to find a ticket on enigmail’s bugtracker (https://sourceforge.net/p/enigmail/bugs/) that could be related to this but I think I lack knowledge on how emails are working.
I did notice, however, that enigmail display the message weirdly when I send myself an ecrypted email with a public key in the body (some header-like parts are added).
I could reproduce that last behaviour with debian and with engimail 2.0~beta1 but couldn’t sign in sourceforge to create a ticket there (thanks to cloudflare).
