tails-installer rejecting viable usb drives
Since 3.0 the tails-installer seem to reject USB drives that are otherwise viable.
I created a script to dump the results from UDisks (based on tails_installer code), Tails installer now rejects 2 USB drives that I’ve previously successfully used to run Tails. Reported values from UDisks:
{’media_removable’: False, ‘model’: ‘Cruzer Fit’, ‘vendor’: ‘SanDisk’,
‘device’: ‘/dev/sdb’, ‘removable’: True}
{’media_removable’: False, ‘model’: ‘Cruzer Blade’, ‘vendor’:
‘SanDisk’, ‘device’: ‘/dev/sdb’, ‘removable’: True}
{’media_removable’: True, ‘model’: ‘HAG2e_’, ‘vendor’: ’‘, ’device’:
‘/dev/mmcblk0’, ‘removable’: True}
tails-installer is currently using media_removable[0] which seems to generate false negatives, it may be preferable to use removable[1] (although it may generate false positives? but `media_removable` generates one for me anyway since /dev/mmcblk0 is an internal flash drive and not suitable for use…)
