Tails 1.6 regression - hangs on Begin: Running /scripts/init-premount

I’ve got a Lexar 8 GB key here that previously was running 1.5.1 and worked without issue. Updated it to 1.6 and rebooted, the key fails to boot on 3 different machines. Removing live-media=removable does not help.
