Hi there seems to be an on going connection problems with the OBFS4 bridges , 80% of the the time they it will never connect cross all gateways that support bridges - as soon the bridges are disconnected it will connect. if bridges never connect there seems no point in having them ?
thanks

The idea of bridges is censorship circumvention, e.g. if you live somewhere where the government and/or ISP blocks users from using VPNs, bridges are supposed to help against that so that users can connect to the VPN. From then on, it's just like using a VPN without bridges. Sites don't care whether you connected to your VPN with or without bridges. https://leap.se/blog/pluggable-transports-and-circumvention-landscape/ Maybe the site you have problems with somehow detects that you use a VPN and blocks access because of that. Something like having a French IP address but German system language, etc. I'm not sure how websites detect VPN usage. Does the site in question not work regardless of which server you connect to? Does it not work without bridges either?
PS :
Angry
I am using a harden version of firefox
https://www.privacy-handbuch.de/handbuch_21u.htm
but this only happens when using the vpn
thanks

What do you mean that some sites (which ones? like dnsleaktest.com for example?) identify them? If you mean that they see the IP address of the server you connected to - of course. The purpose of obfs4 bridge is to conceal your usage of a VPN from your ISP.
hi angry bird
been running some tests on this site 'https://www.stuff.co.nz/' when opening links ' just click a few links and this comes into play
Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/destinations/australia/300788792/wanderpods-kangaroo-islands-new-luxury-pods-are-tourism-at-its-best" on this server.

Is 'obfs4 bridge' not to help these sites from seeing that vpn's are in use?
thanks

I found that RiseupVPN bridges 'obfs4' rarely connect , there has been issues connecting for a long time and when they do sites that scan for vpn's identify them anyway
Yes it's been down for weeks - try using 'Montreal CA' which is working ok - Riseup.net status is not reporting any issues but there clearly is
Seattle has been a no go for weeks and is still down "can connect but no data flow' on versions Linux and windows Montreal works great - Doesn't look like anyone has even looked at it or has reported
Don't think OONI probe for Riseup has working for a long time time now , yeah bridges don't seem to make a lot of different when sites a blocking vpns . are they up to date ?
Yes this issues is is still happening with US servers , Connecting but blocking any internet activities - Canadian and European servers seem to be fine , been a few weeks now
Been also noticing connection problems cross all US gateways over the last few days -DOS attacks again maybe ?
Looks good - Works Good
Hi - no luck with both Windows beta's "RiseupVPN-installer-0.21.6-131-g5d978838-2"
Will the Windows update be posted here? https://downloads.leap.se/RiseupVPN/windows/
Problems connecting to vpn gateways →
RiseupVPN
Some users are having difficulty connecting to VPN gateways.
Android: If you are an android user, please go to your App Storage, find the RiseupVPN app, stop it, and then click both the “Clear Storage” and “Clear Cache”. Then attempt to connect again.
Windows: The version of RiseupVPN for Windows appears to have been built with an older and unsupported version of the underlying cryptographic library. A new version of the Windows client is being prepared to fix this issue.
Thanks for your time
Hi guys wondering if you guys have notice this issue around locations and the use of bridges ? Maybe it is just 'Riseup net 'in Seattle ? But the US servers are been seen as ‘Ru ‘ but the IP is right for Seattle , makes no difference with the use of bridges. When using the Paris server , all is ok posted screenshots
thanks
